• The National Emergency Operations Committee (COE), however, recommends its use.
• The requirements to enter the country or to travel to Galapagos have not changed.
In compliance with the resolution of the COE, hosted by the Metropolitan COE of Quito, the use of a mask is no longer mandatory at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito. However, in accordance with the provision, it is recommended that users and passengers of the air terminal continue to wear the mask as a precaution.
However, the COE points out that the use of masks in closed and open spaces will be mandatory for people who present respiratory symptoms.
Given the decrease in the spread of the disease and in compliance with the resolutions of the competent authority, the occupancy allowed at the Quito airport has been restored to 100%. The presentation of the vaccination certificate remains in place as a requirement to enter the airport terminal.
It is important to clarify that the COE has not modified the requirements to enter the country by air or to travel to Galapagos. The current requirements are:
• Traveler's Health Declaration, available at the following link: https://declaracionsalud-viajero.msp.gob.ec/, if the platform is not available, you can submit the physical form.
• All travelers over 3 years of age must present the vaccination certificate with a QR code or a valid vaccination card against COVID-19 with at least 14 days of validity after completing the scheme, or the negative result of a RT-PCR test performed up to 72 hours prior to travelling to Ecuador. Passengers under 3 years old will not present these requirements.
